The Giraffes Mom & Baby

This piece was a real turning point for me. There is such a specific, quiet bond between a mother giraffe and her calf, and I wanted to see if I could capture that closeness by my own hand. I used watercolors to build up those soft, sandy tones, letting the paint bleed naturally on the cold press paper to give their coats that organic, mottled texture. Finishing it off with ink pen lines allowed me to define their long lashes and the gentle lean of their necks. It’s a design that feels right at home on a shell, but it has a sweetness to it that stands up just as well as a framed print.

My paintings are sold as prints or the original is added when it is available and are all sold in natural wood frames and covered with glass. 

Each print comes signed and numbered from 1-20 as only 20 will be produced.
