Oyster Shell Dish & Soap

Beautiful and weighty, these Scottish oyster shells with fanned are stunning. They create a statement on your washstand or bath with a natural guest soap of your choice.

These oysters have the design placed to best suit the shape and contouring of every unique and individual cupped shell.

The oysters are gold gilded on the beautifully fanned edges of the shell and the entirety of the shell rear. The shells come in two sizes – small (8-10cm) and large (10-13cms)

Each shell is unique in size, shape, thickness with natural variations but choosing a size and then design will ensure that the design has been placed on the shell in the best position. The photographs show a representation of each of the 12 designs and your shell will feature that design but not be identical as every shell is unique.

Each shell has been handcrafted and cleaned/sanitised meticulously, left to air dry, painted, skillfully decoupaged with their exquisite design be it William Morris, Liberty, or other great British designers.

The shell is then carefully hand gilded and finished and sealed with a waterproof clear eco seal.

The shell is food safe, water resistant.

Our Scottish shells have subtle variations. Some are teardrop in shape, others are more elongated with natural features such as cracks, pitting or barnacles.. the charm of living under the sea off the coast of Western Scotland or in the lochs.

Each shell has uniquely evolved into the shape they are now. The edible oyster has long since gone and we repurpose this natural shape into an amazing soap dish!

Care Instructions:

• Do not put in the dishwasher or submerge in liquid for long periods of time.
• Do not leave it sitting with pools of soapy water. Not only will this damage the dish but also ruin your natural soap bar.
• REMEMBER – the underside of your shell is still porous so will not cope with being left in a soggy puddle around the bath or washbasin.
